We – Tango Fortuna –  exist because we want to dance. Preferably at home, but we also make trips at regular intervals to Malmö and Halmstad, as we try to drive together to make the whole thing a pleasant experience.

During 2018-2019, in collaboration with Tangorama and Dunkers cultural center, we had milongas every Sunday, some workshops for different levels. During 2019, we had internships every week on Wednesdays in café Favela on Gåsebäck in Helsingborg.  Since 2020, we have our own large premises at Project Pocket which houses all our experiments in time and out of time 🙂

Sometimes we come up with more spontaneous thoughts and ideas.  Often it is difficult to know what the outcome will be. Then we just drive and test! We had such, e.g. tango lunches at the golf club, guerilla milonga in odd places in town, tango by the water in Helsingborg’s harbour. Welcome with your ideas and suggestions!

We are happy to collaborate with other associations and groups, whether tango-related or not. It is important, we think, that as many people as possible should come in and take part in the wonderful dance life, and in this we need to collaborate both broadly and deeply. So far we had joint events with Tangorama (Helsingborg), SKRUV (Malmö), STPLN (Mlamö), Ask Art (Röstånga), with our own playlists and DJs.

We really like the international community that tango embraces, and we support that and try to develop it further. We have so far invited DJs from Poland, teachers from Turkey and Portugal, as well as musicians from Belarus, and we intend to continue. It will never be a commercial project but for friends and those curious about experiments, our doors and hearts are always open.

Most of all, we warn of a lovely atmosphere, pleasant company and exchange. Whatever we do, curios and beginners are welcome! Tango is so much more than dance: it is good advice, new thoughts, long and short conversations, warmth and companionship, unexpected friendships and a whole culture of musical experiences.
